Water safety and learning to swim are essential life skills. At St Clair High School we are facilitating a compulsory Swimming and Lifesaving Program for all Year 7 students. This program concentrates on building confidence in the water, developing and maintaining swimming strokes/technique and teaching safety skills in and around the water. These survival and swimming skills will set the foundation that is necessary for your child to develop an understanding of aquatic skills and enhance their knowledge of safe play in the water.
The program will be held at Ripples Leisure Centre, St Marys. The program will be across two consecutive days Monday 9th December – Tuesday 10th December, 2019. Please note that there will be no timetabled lessons at school for Year 7 students as all students are expected to attend and participate in the program.
The program will cater for a diverse range of swimming abilities from beginner to advanced with swimming technique, water safety and survival skills being taught across the intensive program.
At the conclusion of the program, students will be presented with participation certificates from the Royal Lifesaving Society, NSW.
