School Issued Laptop Program
Where access meets opportunity
The School Issued Laptop Program reflects our commitment to inclusive, future-focused education by standardising access to devices, eliminating barriers to participation, support consistent teaching and learning practices, and ensure that every student is equipped with the tools they need to succeed.

A new approach to digital learning
St Clair High School are going through a period of digital transformation, introducing a newer digital learning experience for all of our students.
Beginning in 2026, all students starting in Year 7 will be issued with a school supplied laptop. This marks the end of the Bring Your Own Device model and the beginning of a new approach that ensures every student has equal access to the same technology and learning opportunities.
Why are we moving away from BYOD?
St Clair High School is moving away from the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) model to ensure a more consistent, equitable, and secure digital learning environment for all students. The BYOD model placed responsibility on families to purchase devices, which often led to significant differences in the quality, functionality, and reliability of technology available to students. These inconsistencies created challenges for both teaching and learning, as not all devices met the Department of Education’s technical requirements or supported the same applications.
