NAPLAN INFORMATION 2019

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. NAPLAN tests the sorts of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life, such as reading, writing, spelling and numeracy. The assessments are undertaken nationwide, every year. This year the tests will occur during Week 3, Term 2. The dates are as follows:

  • Tuesday May 14th – Language Conventions and Writing
  • Wednesday May 15th – Reading
  • Thursday May 16th – Numeracy (both calculator and non-calculator assessments)

It is expected that every Year 7 and 9 student at St Clair High School will complete all NAPLAN assessments in full. At St Clair High School we set high expectations for each and every student and we encourage all students to apply themselves to each and every NAPLAN paper to full capacity to meet these high expectations.

If you would like access to NAPLAN style papers to practice with your child please feel free to visit the following website.

This resource covers all the domains of literacy and numeracy assessed in the NAPLAN tests. You may find them beneficial in familiarising your child with the type of questions they may be asked to answer in the tests.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Ms Nicole Holt on 02 9670 6700.

Thankyou
